mandatory fee waiver request
UMCP and UMCES students are admitted through the University of Maryland, College Park, Graduate School. A waiver of Mandatory Fees may be granted to UMCP and UMCES students who reside 40+ miles from the UMCP campus.
PLEASE NOTE: Students who are awarded a Teaching Assistantship on the College Park campus are NOT eligible for the fee waiver regardless of your residential proximity. Please see the following information from the MEES Director. There are NO mandatory fees waivers permitted for summer sessions.
In order to have your mandatory student fees waived you must:
Agree to the terms of the waiver - that you will not use any of the UMCP student services that are covered by the mandatory fees (see below). A detailed summary of each mandatory fee is also available for students to review.
Services include:
All campus recreation facilities
Student tickets for athletic and cultural/performing arts events
UM shuttle bus
Student Union
Student Counseling Center
Legal Aid Office
Library Carrel Space
This request DOES NOT APPLY to MEES student’s who are admitted through UMES, UMB, or UMBC.
