Elective Courses 

PATHWAYS TO SPECIALIZATION

Electives offer the opportunity for students to focus their education on their specific research interests, and represent approximately half of all credits taken. The student and her/his advisory committee decide which courses best contribute to the student’s program of study. Courses from the five MEES partner institutions (University of Maryland Baltimore, University of Maryland Baltimore County, University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, University of Maryland College Park, and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore) are available to MEES students. The numerous electives available through MEES enrich and provide greater flexibility than most environmental graduate programs in the nation.

*The following are comprehensive lists of suggested courses that can be taken to fulfill the requirement for elective courses. These lists are not inclusive of ALL courses that can be taken by the student. Please seek guidance and approval from your advisor for courses outside of these lists.
