Professional Development Courses
Development of skills needed as a professional Scientists
A hallmark of the MEES program is providing students with a solid ethical foundation from which they can confidently translate their scientific findings into communication products and productive interactions with the management and policy communities, as well as the general public and other scientists outside their own field. The MEES Professional Development courses provide these skills. All students must take three courses, including two required classes in “Applied Environmental Science” and “Responsible Conduct of Research.” The third required course may be related to science communication or quantitative analysis and is selected by each student in consultation with his/her advisory committee. Additional professional development courses may be taken as electives.
